Mock Drill!!!

Hillwoods Academy in Greater Noida conducted a mock air strike drill on May 7, 2025 to prepare students and staff for emergency situations. Teachers and staff guided the students, ensuring order and safety. The exercise aimed to familiarize everyone with safety protocols, including taking cover positions and remaining calm during a crisis. A video was demonstrated prior to the drill to explain and clarify the procedure for the entire drill. The siren stimulated the teachers and students to take shelter. The school administration deemed the drill successful in raising awareness and preparedness for potential air strike scenarios.

Report on Student’s Visit to Bharat Shiksha Expo 2025, Greater Noida

Enthusiastic students of Hillwoods Academy, Greater Noida  visited the Bharat Shiksha Expo 2025 at the India Expo Centre and Mart on April 24, 2025. The expo, in its second edition, aimed  to be a premier platform showcasing India’s educational advancements and global learning opportunities. It featured a wide array of exhibitors, including national and international universities, colleges, ed-tech startups, coaching institutes, and study abroad consultants. This provided students with a comprehensive overview of the diverse educational pathways available to them. Students actively engaged with representatives from various institutions, collecting brochures, prospectuses, and detailed information about different courses, admission procedures, and eligibility criteria. They inquired about specific programs of interest and gained insights into the unique offerings of each participating entity.  The expo offered several interactive workshops,  demonstrations and career workshops. The students witnessed and some even participated in engaging competition like Robo Race, Robo Soccer and drone shows. The student visit proved to be a valuable and enriching experience. The expo served as an effective platform for students to explore diverse educational and career opportunities, interact with experts, and gain insights into the evolving education landscape.

Graduating Ceremony (2024-25) & Orientation Programme (2025-26)

Hillwoods Academy organized its Graduation Ceremony for the young Kindergarten students; and Orientation Programme to welcome the students and parents in the Academic Session, 2025-26. The parents, students and all the invited guests were equally enthusiastic for the special occasion.  The event commenced with the customary lamp lighting and invocation of the almighty followed by the melodious Welcome Song. With impressive presentation, the Head of the Schoolapprised the parents with the glorious history; and future motto of the Hillwoods Fraternity which believes in the holistic development of each and every learner by imbibing the life skills required for being a resourceful citizen of the nation. In her speech, she invoked the parents for their support and cooperation in shaping the future of the students in the best way. The Tiny-tots of Nursery and KG enthusiastically celebrated the Graduation by performing a lively and perfectly synchronised dance performance followed by enthralling and meaningful skit on the ill- effects of Mobile Phone Addiction among the children. The school counsellor Dr Meenu Agarwal shared valuable thoughts and tips to the parents on how to become the best friends of their children and shape their ideas fruitfully in a positive way. This was followed by the allocation of graduation certificates and awards to the tiny tots who walked impressively in their graduation robes and caps. The young graduates shared their experience and beautiful memories with the audience. The other achievers of the session 2024-25 from various classes were also felicitated on the occasion. The memorable day concluded with the distribution of the report cards and best wishes for the commencement of the new academic session.

School visit to World Book Fair

Date: 7th February 2025  Hillwoods Academy organized a visit to the Annual World Book Fair at Pragati Maidan, Delhi which is a premier literary event that brought together authors, publishers, and book lovers from around the world. The students and teachers visited the fair with equal enthusiasm. The fair showcased a vast collection of books from renowned national and international publishers, spanning various genres and subjects. Students explored the latest titles, interacted with authors, and attended quiz literary sessions. The visit fostered a love for reading and expanded their literary horizons. The students  purchased many fascinating books by different authors in both Hindi and English. Teachers guided them in selecting books suited to their interests. The event was an inspiring experience, encouraging young minds to appreciate literature and global perspectives. Overall, the trip was both educational and memorable, sparking students’ excitement for the world of books.

Visit to War Memorial, India Gate & Children’s Park

Date: 15th February 2025  “Better to see something once than hear about it a thousand times.” Hillwoods Academy organized an Educational Field Trip on 15th February 2025 for the students of Class III to XI. The trip was a perfect blend of learning with fun and recreation, providing students with an opportunity to explore history beyond textbooks. The journey began with a visit to the National War Memorial where students paid homage to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation. Teachers shared insightful details about the significance of the memorial, instilling a deep sense of patriotism among the students. They observed the names of martyrs inscribed on the walls and reflected on the courage and dedication of the armed forces. Additionally, guides Ms. Kushi Khandelwal and Mr. Manoj provided a detailed briefing on historic battles such as the Battle of Longewala, Gangasagar, Tithwal, and Rezangla, enriching students’ understanding of India’s military history. Students also explored the India Gate, a historic monument symbolizing national pride and valour. They learned about its architectural significance and the eternal flame of Amar Jawan Jyoti, dedicated to soldiers. The visit enhanced their knowledge of India’s rich history while fostering a sense of respect and admiration for the country’s heroes. After an enriching educational experience, the students proceeded to Indraprastha Children’s Park, where they enjoyed fun-filled activities and games. Laughter and excitement filled the air as they participated in group challenges, promoting teamwork and social interaction. The day concluded with a delectable food experience. This educational excursion not only deepened students’ understanding of India’s heritage but also provided a joyful break from routine academics. It was truly a memorable and fulfilling day for all!

Green Diwali Week, 2024

A plethora of activities were conducted in throughout the week before the much awaited festival of joy and light, Diwali to sensitise students about the effect of pollution and deterioration of Air Quality after the Diwali celebration. A special assembly was conducted where the students and the staff pledged to be sensitive towards the environment, children, pets and elderly people and; thus not to fire crackers. Distinct competitions were held for the students form Class I to XII, which comprised Drawing, Painting, Poster Making and Rangoli Making where the students showcased their artistic and creative talent to echo the theme of eco-friendly Diwali. The winners were announced and acknowledged for their effort and participation.

Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri’s Birthday Celebration

A special assembly was conducted on 1st October, 2024 to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shashtri Jayanti. The school choir presented the melodious hymn. The students of pre-primary wing masqueraded as Gandhiji and Shastri with the placards on cleanliness and ‘Jai jawan, Jai kisan’. Cleanliness pledge was undertaken by all the students and staff to honour the theme of the year, Swatchta hi Sewa.

21March, 2024 Hillwoods Academy organized its Graduation Ceremony for the young Kindergarten students; and Orientation Programme to welcome the new students and parents in the Hillwoods Family from the new session 2024-25. The parents, students and all the invited guests were equally enthusiastic for the special occasion.   The event commenced with the customary lamp lighting and rendition of prayer to Saraswati Vandana. The students of primary section welcomed all the esteemed guests with a melodious song followed by an adorable dance performance. The tiny tots of Class I, II Class III mesmerised the audience with their confident enactment to showcase the theme of Friendship, Story of Butterfly and Story of Zero respectively. This was followed by the conferring of graduate diplomas and trophies to the tiny tots who walked impressively in their graduation robes and caps. The young graduates shared their experience and beautiful memories with the audience.  The exuberant and perfectly synchronized dance performances by the student of Class II to III were highly appreciated by all the participants. The School Head addressed and enlightened the parents about the glorious history; and motto of the Hillwoods Fraternity which believes in the holistic development of each learner by imbibing the life skills required for being a resourceful citizen of the nation. HILLWOODS ACADEMY MODEL UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE GREATER NOIDA, 2024

“Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.” — John F. Kennedy Hillwoods Academy added a new feather in its wing by inaugurating the 1st edition of Hillwoods Academy Model United Nations Committee Greater Noida (HAMUCGR)  on  17  December 2024. The event was graced by, Brigadier Sanjay Agarwal, Sena Medal  Bar &  a veteran. Brigadier Agarwal is the former Security Advisor, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt of India; Advisor, National Highway Authority of India; Advisor to the Govt of Seychelles and President of the Services Selection Board in the Govt of India. A Distinguished Professor at SRM IST NCR Campus, FMS. He is a regular speaker on success in life, leadership, strategy planning, management and motivational issues in various government, industry and academics circles. The day commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest along with Ms. Rita Srivastava, Director, Hillwoods Academy and Ms. Meenakshi  Butail, Vice-Principal , Hillwoods Academy, symbolizing the beginning of this auspicious occasion. A memento was presented to the Chief Guest of the day by the Vice Principal in honour of his presence. A melodious performance was presented by the school choir to welcome the guests and the participants. The committees and the agendas were introduced setting the incredible line of sessions ahead. HAMUNCGR, 2024 souvenir was unveiled by Brigadier Agarwal. In his address, Brigadier Agarwal referred global leaders like Sundar Pichai and Boyan Slat, urging students to become the “future pillars of the world.” He inspired the young delegates to  embrace innovation and global responsibility, encouraging them to rise as tomorrow’s leaders with courage and vision. Additionally, he accentuated the significance of the platform in  developing students’ communication abilities, which would equip them with the necessary skills to engage in diplomatic dialogues in the future. Ginisha Gulati , Secretary General, officially opened the conference by striking the gavel. The second day of HAMUNC concluded with a splendid closing ceremony on 18 December 2024, which began with a energizing performance by the students of Class VII. Ms, Sangeeta Singh, Principal, Hillwoods Academy in her address praised the Organising Committee for their efforts and urged them to be motivated to conduct and participate in these types of events in future.  Vice Principal in her address thanked all the delegates and congratulated the Organising Committee for their tireless effort which made the event a great success. The ceremony featured memento presentations to the Executive Board and awards for delegates, including trophies and certificates in categories such as Special Mention, High Commendation, and Best Delegate. The school secretariat was also acknowledged for their efforts.   The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Deputy General Kanisk Bhati, and Ginisha Gulati formally closed the conference.
