Report on Clay Modelling Competition

Hillwoods Academy, Greater Noida  Clay modelling  is an art that helps in the development of the children in several ways. It nurtures a child’s creativity and self confidence. Keeping this in mind as   a part of the House competition a “Clay Modelling Competition” was organized for 1st and 2nd grade students on July 25th,2024. The students made various types of ancient coins using their own clay like a 1 rupee coin or a 5 rupee coin used in 1980 and the latest one too. They were very delighted and excited while making different shapes and patterns on clay.1st position was secured by Adhira of grade 1 from Ujjain house,2nd position was secured by Anav of grade 2 from Sanchi house and the third position was secured by Devika of grade 1 from Takshshila house.

Report on Colour Changing Activity

Hillwoods Academy, Greater Noida  On  26th july 2024, an activity was organised in KG class where in all the students painted their palms with two different colours and pasted their prints on a piece of chartpaper , then they mixed both the colours and a new colour was formed and the students enjoyed this process thoroughly and were very excited throughout the activity. The hand printing activity was a valuable experience for students, providing opportunities for skill development, creative expression, and collaborative interaction.

Report on Swachhta Pakhwada

(14.09.2024 to 01.10.2024) From 14th  September to 1st October 2024, the School observed Swachhta Pakhwada. In the morning assembly, the pledge on Swachhta was administered to the students and the staff members. Students participated in cleaning the premises. The students were also told about the importance of cleanliness and encouraged to keep their surroundings litter-free. They were also stimulated to spread an awareness about the same. Students in classes III to V have prepared posters to spread awareness of cleanliness. Students of classes VI to VIII have created posters on Viksit Bharat – 2047 during the campaign of Swachchta Ki Sewa-2024,  and the students of classes IX and X have written essays on Viksit Bharat – 2047 (200 words).

Winter Carnival 2024

21 December 2024 “Winter is not a season, it’s a celebration.” Hillwoods Academy, Greater Noida organized its Winter Carnival on 21.12.24. which brought together students, teachers, and parents for a day filled with festive joy. The students took initiatives and participated whole heartedly to indulge in different activities. Many entertaining games and interesting activities were organized at the fete. A Winter Wonderland theme was embraced across the grounds with twinkling lights and a large Christmas tree adorned with ornaments created by the students. Soon after the inauguration, the school ground was occupied by enthusiastic visitors. Festivities marked each and every corner of the ground. Gaily decorated stalls , each trying to outdo others, welcomed the eager visitors. The numerous lip-smacking delicacies Food Stalls were a big attraction and so were the various Games Stalls put up by the students for all age groups. The tiny tots enjoyed Trampoline and Joy Rides to the fullness of their hearts. Students showcased their talents with a series of performances, including  winter-themed dance  and choir songs. More fun and merriment was in store in the form of ‘Open Mic’,  ‘ Ramp Show’,   ‘Tambola’ and ‘Raffle Draw’ where the participants thronged in and participated eagerly and won several interesting prizes. All the guests and the participants captured their dynamic memory at the vibrantly decorated Selfie Point. Lively and energetic feet tapped to the latest beats of popular songs.  Students and parents immersed themselves in a cultural extravaganza, enjoying music, dance, games, and delectable treats from various stalls. In the end, the day turned out to be a beautiful confluence of winter and all its festive glory marking a jubilant way of ushering in the New Year.

Vasant Panchami

31 January 2025 A special assembly was conducted to welcome the arrival of spring season on the occasion of Vasant Panchami. The assembly commenced with Saraswati Vandana to pay tribute to the Goddess of knowledge and wisdom. The students of Classes II to V presented a mesmerizing dance performance. A speech was delivered to highlight the significance of the day and vivid celebrations held in different corners of the country to mark the day. The Head of the School performed Saraswati Puja and invoked the blessings of the Goddess of intelligence for all the students especially for the student of Class X and a XII who are going to appear for the upcoming CBSE Board examinations.

Science Week Report

Date: 13 May 2024 to 16 May 2024 The Science Week held at Hillwoods Academy was a resounding success, fostering anenvironment of learning, creativity, and exploration among students. With a diverse range ofactivities centered around the theme of science, the week provided students with opportunitiesto engage in hands-on experiences and deepen their understanding of various scientificconcepts.Students participated in mask making engaging discussions about the diverse plant and animallife on our planet. They learned about the interdependence of different species, conservationefforts, and the importance of biodiversity for the sustainability of ecosystems.Through a lively skit, students conveyed the importance of a balanced diet for maintaininggood health. They highlighted the role of different food groups in providing essential nutrientsand energy, promoting healthy eating habits among their peers. A special assembly wasorganized where students presented their learnings from the Science Week.Students had the opportunity to express their thoughts and ideas on various science topicsthrough essay writing. This activity encouraged critical thinking, research skills, and effectivecommunication, as students delved into subjects ranging from space exploration toenvironmental sustainability.The Science Week was not only a celebration of scientific inquiry but also a platform fornurturing curiosity and innovation among students. By engaging in a variety of activities,students gained a deeper appreciation for the wonders of science and its relevance to their lives.

Report on Umbrella Dance Activity

Hillwoods Academy, Greater Noida  On  24th July 2024, an activity was organized by the school where students of  KG, 1st grade, and 2nd  grade participated in an umbrella dance as part of our cultural arts curriculum. The students brought their own umbrellas and danced to “nursery rhymes” by Cocomelon.  The students demonstrated enthusiasm and confidence as they executed their routines, showcasing their understanding of the dance practices. Their ability to work as a team. They enjoyed and were very excited during the activity and bonded with other class students too. The KG, 1st grade, and 2nd grade teachers were present along with Ms. Raveena Kapoor, Coordinator, Hillwoods Academy.

Mother’s Day

“When you are looking at your mother, you are looking at the purest love you will ever know.”                         —Charley Benetto A special assembly on Mother’s Day was organized on May 10 2024 in the school premises to celebrate Mother’s Day. The main idea was to highlight the importance of mother in the life of a child. Of all the bonds we share during our lifetime, the most special one is the one that we have with our mothers! A mother selflessly fulfils all our desires and cares for us till our last breath. The programme concluded by a series of different cultural activities like enthralling song presentations and mesmerizing dance performances by the students of Classes I to V, which were dedicated to mothers to convey gratitude for their unconditional love.  The mothers enthusiastically participated in the eventful games organized for them. The day that recognizes the essence of a mother was concluded in high spirits and merriment.

Investiture Ceremony is the act of conferring authority. This ceremony signifies the confidence and reliance that the school invests in the newly elected office bearers. Heritage Week

15- 19 April 2024 Hillwoods Academy, Greater Noida organised Heritage Week from 15 April to 19 April 2024. The week aimed to promote the conservation of culture and heritage across the globe.  A list of activities and competitions were held during a week-long festival which aimed to spread awareness about the traditions and cultures of different parts of the India. The week commenced with the introduction and explanation of cultural heritage in a broad sense through well devised audio – visual and hand on activities for all the Classes from I -XII. Special Assembly was organised on the World Heritage Day on 18 April and urge to foster a sense of pride in cultural diversity which encompasses Built Heritage, Natural Heritage, Art & Culture and Performing Art, defining us while emphasising our collective responsibilities.  Inter House Heritage Quiz based on Art and Heritage Sites was conducted for Class IX to XII in which Ujjain House stood as a winner and Raj Singh from Nalanda House bagged 1st position,  Tanvi Sharma from Sanchi House got 2nd position and             House secured 3rd prize in  Drawing & Painting Competition held for the Class VI to VIII.
